While in the California area for the 2010 Westec show, DTI visited one of its new customers at the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory. After an amazing tour of the facility, we were shown how our specialized diamond orifices are being put to use in NASA research labs. While the details are classified, the research focuses on light spectroscopy involving lasers and a waterjet stream shot through our diamond nozzles. DTI has designed and developed the ultimate solution to perfect the alignment of the abrasive water jet stream. P.A.C.T. (Precision Aligned Cartridge Technology) is a revolutionary technology that creates alignment of the jet stream through the orifice, the abrasive mixing chamber, and the abrasive focusing tube. DTI integrates this process into a diamond orifice cartridge, each individually aligned to perfection. With pre-aligned, replaceable cartridges, waterjet operators benefit from extended focusing tube life, excellent entrainment of abrasive in the jet stream, guaranteed focusing of jet stream on the material being cut, and less down time replacing worn waterjet components. The cartridge also gives the users a less expensive component to replace since it is removable from the complete cutting assembly. To learn more please follow the below link.
One of DTI’s fundamental goals has always been to give back to the local community and the people within it. This year DTI is proud to sponsor the Olympia Symphony Orchestra, the Boy Scouts of America, Boys and Girls Clubs, World Vision and Care Net. DTI is also proud to support the Tronie Foundation to aid victims of slave-trafficking, as well as the Jernigan Foundation which has helped to build a preschool in Africa for at-risk youth.
